In this theatrical and musically compelling program, pianist Susan Merdinger and members of the Sheridan Solisti present Holocaust Haunting, an imaginative concert of “ghost-themed” classical works for piano and string chamber ensemble. The program features author and narrator Karen Kaplan presenting excerpts from her novel “Conjoined”, interwoven with music reflecting themes of memory, spirit, and the supernatural. A centerpiece of the program is the Chicago live premiere of Dybbuk Piano Trio by Grammy-nominated composer Ilya Levinson as well as his Shtetl Scenes for Piano Trio, plus works by Beethoven, Bolcom and Liszt.
